Jesus in Junior High

So today is finally Friday...which is good except that means that next week is the last week of school. Which is good except that my baby will officially be a junior high student! I know that time passing is inevitable but why does it have to pass so quickly? It seems like yesterday that she was starting preschool. Funny how in the midst of certain stages of life we wish those times away..."if only she was potty-trained"..."when she goes to school all day, then..." and now here we are at a cross-roads of sorts. She is a pre-teen in age but still so small. Growing up and yet she has always been so grown up. Is she ready for the "big world" outside of elementary school? Have I taught her all that she needs to know on how to survive? Have I instilled confidence in her that she will need to remain strong in her beliefs? All I can do is to trust the One who loves her more than I ever could. To believe that He holds her life in His hands. To surrender her once again on His alter, trusting His ability to be with her always. And that is where this ends or begins (however you see it)...my sweet little girl, who is growing up, and her Jesus are headed to junior high.

Are you looking for assurance in the "unknown" parts of your life? There is a God who knows every detail about your past, present, and future. There is a loving God who holds every detail of your life in His hands. Even better is that He also holds your children's lives in His hands as well. For this I am thankful. For this I have given my life. For this I will praise Him. For this has forever changed my life.
